What is your degree subject (both if joint)?
Law and social policy
Does ‘Being Bad’ relate well to the other modules you are taking?
Kind of
If so, how? And if not, why not?
It relates to law because some things which are so called ‘being bad’ are against the law, it doesn’t relate to social policy at all
Have you found ‘Being Bad’ too demanding, too easy, or at an appropriate level?
easy
Do you think the list of topics covered on the module was appropriate?
yes
Are there any topics not included in the module that you would like to see included?
Things more juicy like murder
Do you think that the format for classes has worked well?
yes
What did you think of the module team?
They are a great bunch of people, particularly liked Mark, lovely guy!
Do you think it would have been better to have had more:
Small group discussions? No
Discussion and debate among the class as a whole? Yes
Information and talk from lecturers? No
The approach taken in the module is interdisciplinary (drawing on perspectives from English Literature, Film Studies, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Media Studies and Politics): do you think this a useful way of approaching the topics covered in the module?
Yes, its something different rather than the usual boring stuff .
Do you think that interdisciplinary modules are a good idea?
definitely
Do you think you have benefited from the interdisciplinary approach taken in the module?
Yes, i hadn’t written a story since primary school forgotten how fun they were.
Would you like to see more modules that cover this kind of subject matter?
Yes
Are you planning to take the follow-up module PH2004 ‘It Shouldn’t Be Allowed’ at level 2?
DEFINATELY, try and stop me!
Would you recommend ‘Being Bad’ to a friend?
Yes
Do you think that the blogs (web logs) were a good idea?
Yes, because in lectures i would get agitated if people were saying things that i didn’t agree with, this way helped me to get my frustration out.
What did you think of the other assessments (e.g. would it be better to have one longer assessment rather than two shorter ones?)?
NO, I’m fed of the boring 1500 word assignments, I say mix it up a little.
What have you learned from the module?
I know that i definitely had fun, and that I was beginning to become bored of the usual lectures, it was great to actually talk and discuss how society has a dark side.
What parts of the module have you found most useful and why?
The debates, helps release frustration, it’s not like an everyday conversation so its fun.
What parts do you think were a waste of time and why?
Nothing really.
Are there any other comments you wish to make regarding ‘Being Bad’?
I had a great time doing something different and can’t wait to do the next module at level 2.

Response to another blog - Gambling
The Blogger: William Fielding
My response:This blogger is kind of contridicting himself, hes says at first that gambling is fun as long as you know how to handle it then you will be ok and find it fun, but then goes on to say that it is a bad thing and people go on to loose money which they havent got. Wouldn't it just be better and more sense to say not to start at all so that it cant happen to you? Obviously this person has experience bad gambling in the past and has not learnt from his mistakes rather than to advertise as fun to people he should be encouraging them not to do it. Gambling is all about selfishness and greed, believe me i have experience the affects of gambling in the past, it does not just only affects the gamblers life it affects everybody around that is close to that person. I believe that gambling is a devils game and should be made illiegal.

Joining a religious cult/‘Being too religious’

Is there really such a thing as being too religious? I really don’t think that there is, we all have our different ways of getting through life, and this is just one of the ways that certain people choose to do that. Me myself I am not religious, I don’t believe that you should prove to someone that you are worthy of life, if that makes sense? Cults scare me though! Sacrificing another life to please someone is ridiculous. It just scares people. However I do believe that normally become extremists and can have some strange beliefs and rituals.
At the website below you can find out much more on religion and cults

Paedophiles
The possibility of a Paedophiles being anywhere near me scares the life out of me let alone defendless children, i wish there was away to ensure that every paedophile were not allowed out of prison, the death sentence should be brought back just for them it is the worst crime possible. Just the other week a read a story in a magizine that i brought it was about a 3 year being raped by a man that was let into a womans home, this woman thought that this man was a close freind. This story nearly brought to tears it was disgusting.
I think that is is disgusting that anybody is able to find things such as child pornography online these people surely should be tracked down and jailed for this.
I find it hard to believe how they are able to access this sort of information online, Surely they ca make an invention to track down these people? The following link shows a undercover reporter who tried to find this out:
Paedophiles are getting more widespread now,I found this link when suching the internet, http://www.kidscape.org.uk/parents/paedophiles.shtml. This link gives parents advice on how to protect their children form paedophilia activity. This is a good idea to protect children, but what sort of world do we live in now? How is it possible to justify these sorts of people living in our society.

Fighting

I hate the idea of having a fight! Im more of a
tell you what im thinking kinda girl. If you have a problem with someone why feel the need to hit them? Fighting has beocme some sort of new craze, a craze where it is fun to go round and slap random people, there are vidoes and pictures of this 'happy slapping' that you can find all over the net. I can understand if you wanted to happy slap one of your mates for a joke and record it but tottaly random people is stupid! A lot of people have got seriously hurt. I remember reading an article in the newspaper about a man that had been set on fire when he had fallen asleep at a bus stop one night.
The link above is an article from the Guardian which talks about the concern over th
e rise of 'happy slapping' craze.
e rise of 'happy slapping' craze. We laugh when we watch TV programmes like the young ones and Bottom which are full of commical violence, maybe this is the reason for the rise is crazes such at the 'happy slapping' craze.

Response to another blog - Tattoos.....Tribal, Fashion and Extreme!!!!!
The Blogger: Laura Guest
My Response: I totally disagree with this blogger, tattoos have nothing to with being individual, there is noway that you could have a tattoo that doesnt resemble another or is the same as somebody elses so it is a bit hard to be indivdual! You cant say that it is about individuality then say its about fashion they are totally the opposite. If you have a tattoo it is about following a trend nothing more, even if you have a tattoo that nobody else has has got!!! I hate in when people have tattoos or piercings because they want to be individual... it is never going to happen. I understand what you are saying about Robbie Williams stealing someone elses tattoo but if you wanted a tattoo and you saw one that you like then you would have it too, it life!!

Prostitution!!!

Postitution is imoral and degrading!! the idea of a girl (or boy) wanting to sell their body for money is ridicolous, why would you want to do something like this? especially now, when so recently it has been splattered all over the news, the media coverge with the ipswich murders shows how dangerous prostitution could be. http://www.guardian.co.uk/crime/article/0,,1969564,00.html
Why would you do so degrading to yourself or even your family.
It is also amazing how in some countries prostitution is legalised but how long will it be untill prostitution is legalised in this country. There isn't much that the law can do is this country as it is. Anybody that feels the need to sell their bodies needs to get a reality check!! Then get themselves a real job like the rest of us!!!

Body Modification
I agree with piercing, tattoos etc to a certain extent, alot of my closest friends have body piercings and with half of them to be honest they either dont suit them or they just look stupid,(harsh i know) This is some peiercings and tattos that i think do look amazing like my bestfriend who had this piercing called the 'hand web' it looked amazing!!!
I do love tattoos though and if you ever think about getting one check out this website:http://www.tattoojohnny.com/star-tattoo-designs.aspmost people have piercings to try and be individual, you dont need massive holes in your ears of a big hole in your lip to be individual, try making your hair or make up look different, something that isnt so permament.
Infidelity...

Infidelity is a very strong subject for me, someone that has seen cheating rip their family apart. I feel that it is one of the worse things that you can go through, it doesnt just last for the day that you find out, you never forget what has happened and can never trust that person again. I was disgusted when i went to the lecture on infidelity, sitting their and listening to the amount of people that thought it was a joke... i was horrified. The media also seem to take infidelity not as seriously as they should, the newspapers flaunt celebreties problems all over the front pages, this should be something that is kept quite out of respect for that person, the link below is an example of the massicve media coverage of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
All i can say is that i hope that it never happens to me and eventually when i am married with children, my children never have to go through it.

I agree with you kylie,i live to shop especially for clothes but unfortunately i am not rich and there will always be something i want but cant afford, however i would never steal to get them. As far as i am concerned shoplifting is no different to any other crime it is still a crime and people should not be allowed to get away with it,there is also not an excuse for it. I cant understand the mental stae of those who do choose to steal, many people chose to steal from places like their work,is their job really worth a few quid? or even their freedom?

We all know that smoking is bad for us yet we still do it..... and that includes me. I could make up excuses and say that, i only smoke bcause my boyfriend does or because the majority of my friends do or i could say i do it just to be socialable but to be honest i cant really give a reasonable explanation why i do smoke its a horrible habbit and i wish that i had never started yet at the same time part of me doesnt want to quit. I have thought or giving up in the past but i only went as far as looking at websites http://www.getunhooked.com/ this is theNHS website giving advice to people like me who find it hard to quit. The website wasnt much help because i didnt really want to quit . I can see that smoking a cigarette is justification for being bad..... I do it and i know i shouldnt but i do it anyway.

How about London?
Lets go somewhere like london for the day! Go shopping or find a place to have a few drinks... Us girls could spend loads of money which we all know we havent got or if your like me spend the banks money. This would fit in great with the idea of "being bad."
